We are in a time where everything seems to be mobile and accessible. For example, you can use your smartphone to buy your groceries and then pick it up at your convenience. Also, if you’re in a time crunch and want to grab a bite to eat, there are many options that can expedite the eating process, such as getting something from one of the many food trucks that exist.
The concept of mobile has also been applied to other industries such as medical (blood donor vehicles), car cleaning/repair services, etc. The dental industry has also jumped on the bandwagon, or bus rather, as well.
A truck has been outfitted to the nines with proper dental equipment and the dental professionals to operate them to provide mobile dental services to children in need in the Pasco County in Tampa. “We will be doing screenings and fluoride treatments and sealants for kids kindergarten through 2nd grade,” said Health Officer, Mike Napier.
An initiative like this is a great way to not only help those who need it, but could be a glimpse of the future of dentistry. Would you want to try getting a dental exam on a tricked out mobile van?
